At IKIGAILEATHER we use top quality, full-grain leathers from European cattle which are tanned with vegetable tannins.They are manufactured in Igualada, Barcelona, birthplace of traditional leather tanneries in Catalonia.

We employ two different types of leather which use different tannins.

For bags and any accessories that require it, we use a softer, more pliable leather than traditional leather. It has a smooth grain, a matte finish, and a velvety feel. A range of 7 colors are available. It is listed as FLEX in the product descriptions.

For wallets, purses, and other accessories that require a firmer leather, we use traditional leather with a satin finish and a smooth grain. A range of 7 colors are available. It is listed as HARD in the product descriptions.

Threads

At IKIGAILEATHER we use threads from the German brand Gütermanto to sew our products. Gütermanto is a global reference for quality and technology in its sector.

We only use high quality YKK zippers. This company is a global leader in the manufacture of zippers, and is renowned for the reliability and durability of its products, which we at IKIGAI are highly satisfied with.

Fittings What sets IKIGAI apart from many other brands is that we have gone to great lengths to obtain high quality and resilient metal fittings that give our pieces a high degree of durability and robustness.

Adhesives

The water-based adhesives we use are solvent-free and do not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and are therefore emission-free, thus contributing to the reduction of air pollution.They are respectful of both the environment and the artisans who handle it. They do not cause allergic reactions.
